OrthoED on the Move

From July to Early October 2026.

Just over 3 months , five cities and three countries. It has been one of our busiest quarters yet.

July

We opened in Melbourne with a three-day program Module 2 part 2 , combining a one-day hands-on session on bracket placement and positioning, wire insertion and orthodontic auxiliaries, with a two-day didactic component. Five specialist orthodontists, plus Robyn and myself, gave a dentist-to-specialist ratio that very few programmes anywhere can match.

Late July took us to Sydney for Aligner Essentials. Eighty dentists were with us in the room and a further forty joined the live online session: one hundred and twenty in a single programme.

August

Back to Sydney for TADs Unleashed with Dr Maximilian Küffer, covered in full elsewhere in this issue. The room left seeing anchorage differently.

We then joined Dr Yohann Thomas and our students in India for an extended hands-on component on live patients, with one-on-one mentorship from world-class orthodontic professors. There is no substitute for treating real patients under that level of supervision.

We also presented at the New Zealand Dental Congress, where the response was excellent. Interest from New Zealand dentists has grown to the point where we are planning to bring Aligner Essentials across the Tasman in 2027.

September

Early September brought our Early Orthodontic module (Module3), two and a half days on treating the growing patient.

From 17 to 19 September we ran Module 8, interdisciplinary treatment planning, with a half-day guest lecture from Dr Andrew Dillon that was very well received.

The highlight of the quarter was the Mini Masters graduation on Friday 18 September, for everyone who started in 2025, and for a few who took a little longer to get there. Watching that group finish is why we do this.

We finished the month in Sydney with Orthodontic Fundamentals, a one-day programme for the Expert Teeth group, aimed at showing them why orthodontics is one of the most rewarding parts of dentistry.

October

From 7 to 9 October we took Aligner Essentials to Perth for the first time. Delivering our first programme in Western Australia, and live-streaming it nationally, was a genuine pleasure and long overdue.

Our goal has not changed. We teach dentists orthodontics properly, so that it becomes a predictable and profitable part of everyday practice. We will report back on October to December in the next issue.
