A 13 year old girl with missing upper laterals, in what seemed to be a class I malocclusion and moderate spacing present distal to the 13 and 23 was presented. She also had impacted mandibular second molars.

This patient demonstrates that some cases do not turn out the way one would expect – and decisions need to be made during the treatment which can change the entire treatment approach. Having said that though, diagnosing this patient in Centric Relation may have provided us with the better initial treatment plan.
